Rabid Office Monkey makes it "Big Time"

In 2004 I entered our office Halloween contest dressed like a total idiot "rock star" type. I wrote a song, created a video interview, had "tour" t-shirts telling people to "rock the vote" and vote me as most original for my persona as the lead singer of Rabid Office Monkey. I even brought my guitar to work and performed a bit.

Needless to say . . . I won.

Four years later I uncovered the lyrics and decided to submit the song to Very Bad Poetry. It was accepted. Here's my acceptance email below. Be sure to check it out . . . . and rock on!

Good news! The poem you submitted to Very Bad Poetry was chosen to be on the front page in the near future. Tell your friends to expect that you'll be famous.

After their laughter drives you to the bottle, remember that Very Bad Poetry still loves you. By the way, you can see all of your poem by going to this link:

Beautiful Words

I found this cool site called Issuu.com where you can publish your own e-zines. I was curious if anyone published poetry on the site, and I found the ebook embedded below. This poetry by Stuart Griffin is really quite lovely. I liked Sentinels and In Honorium best. I hope you enjoy it!

Pandora Rocks!

Source: WikipediaIf you are looking for a great place online to listen to music for free, go to Pandora.com. You can create free "radio stations" based on a favorite song or an artist. Pandora then builds a station based on the musical characteristics of that favorite song or group. I listen to this station all afternoon at work. One warning: this might be against your company's internet usage policy. So, you might want to check this out before you start listening at work.

Check it out and rock on!

Gone Country . . . Gone Nutty!

I really liked that Gone Country show that was on CMT. The finale on Friday, though, was a major downer! No offense to Julio Iglesias, Jr., but he shouldn't have won. I was really pulling for Bobby Brown. I sort of wonder if this were simply a publicity vehicle to put Julio Iglesias out there. I think he put the least effort forth in the entire process, and I didn't think his song was nearly as great as the other folks.

Well, whatevah! If this had been a vote by the public, I don't think he would have won. I hope Bobby Brown releases his single!
