I was watching the local FOX affiliate this morning, and the news team mentioned the new Simpsons movie. They said to check out the Simpsonizer site that Burger King has online. Then they showed the team "simpsonized." So, I had to try it for myself!
Here's me "simpsonized." Go do your own mug!

I've Found the Friend of My Dreams!
OK. My post title is a bit of an exaggeration. Let's say I found the karaoke/happy hour partner of my dreams (not sure if she is actually friendship material). It's the chick on tonight's Don't Forget the Lyrics on FOX. This broad is a freaking performer! She belts out these tunes with overstated feeling. She does the robot with every song. She is the man!
I love people who can just let loose and have a good time. I don't mean the sloppy drunk who comes back to life and starts slurring "Mr. Mojo Risin'" with The Doors blaring from the corner jukebox. I'm talking about the people who love life and don't mind if they look silly while embracing that love.
Big E update: Emmett (my dog) had his mass removed from his lip today. I hope he doesn't have cancer because today's little visit was almost $600!!!! Holy cow.
Peace out peeps!

Just Some Random Life Goals I Just Came Up With
Create a trend-setting drink featuring Mad Dog 20/20. I would like to find a way to incorporate foam or fizz so that we can name it Rabid Dog Spit or Old Yeller. That is probably copyrighted, so I guess I will stay with Rabid Dog Spit. Forget mojitos! Have a Rabid Dog Spit!
Take the world's most awesome action shot with my camera phone. I got some stuff posted in my Daily Cell Phone Photo Blog, but I am not close to "the world's most AWESOME action shot." There is a picture of my dog taking a poop, though. He was really straining, so there was some action there.
Develop the most perfect and complete Word template for meeting agendas. I got a pretty good one that I plan on posting at my website (for free download). I think it's close to perfect. Still tinkering with it.
Coin my own word and get people to start using it in everyday speech. Right now I'm pushing "noodley." My definition is "crazy, discombobulated" -- instead of "you are making me crazy," you could say "you are making me noodley." Start using it. You will love it! Remember you read it here first! I also like to say "monkey butt" a lot, but I haven't really nailed down a definition for that phrase. I say it interchangeably with too many words. It makes me and others quite noodley!
OK. That's about it for today. Who knows what I may aspire to tomorrow.

Harry Potter, YouTube, CNN, etc.
YES! My copy of the last Harry Potter book arrived today. YES! I am an adult in my thirties reading a children's book.
I admit that I love this series. It's just a great escape into imagination. If you have never read Harry Potter stuff, give it a chance. Don't let all the over-hyping turn you off. The books are better than the movies, and you don't have to be a child nor a complete loser adult to love them. They really are great.
That's about it for now.
I had planned to write a whole blog about how stupid the whole YouTube.com/CNN debate seemed to be, but now I must read my book. One thing: I think the idea that you could post a question on YouTube is totally awesome. I think the management and execution of the idea, though, fell short of the potential awesomeness the idea had.
Better luck next time, YouTube/CNN. I think this could work and be spectacular with a little tweaking.

Volunteerism
I attended a "volunteer appreciation" dinner last night hosted by the American Cancer Society. I received a certificate of appreciation for my "almost one year" of service. It was very nice, but my service is just a drop in the bucket. Some people recognized last night have been providing service for over a decade. Two people have served as volunteers for 25 years! That's a amazing. To think of number of rides they have given to patients via Road to Recovery or helped through the other service programs they volunteer through at ACS. It's really incredible.
Prior to having cancer, I would never have seen myself as a dedicated volunteer. Sure, I gave money and would do short-term projects, but I never dedicated myself to a nonprofit. I guess it took having cancer to get involved. I am really proud to be involved -- in this way, cancer has been a blessing. Weird, huh?
I encourage everybody to explore ways they can help their communities via volunteer service. I would love to see you join us in helping the American Cancer Society. I am the Corporate Sponsorship chair for the 2007 - 2008 Relay For Life event in Clearwater. I will also be speaking to about 300 people at an upcoming ACS Volunteer Leadership Event (it will be an "interview format," so that won't be too nerve-wracking!). But, there are plenty of other great charities out there that need your service. Here are just a few of them:
Health-oriented Associations
The American Cancer Society
The American Heart Association
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Alzheimer's Association
ALS Association/Fighting Lou Gherig's Disease
Susan G. Komen
Animal Welfare
American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
The Humane Society
Environment
Greenpeace
The Nature Conservancy
World Wildlife Fund
Human Welfare/Poverty
Habitat for Humanity
Share Our Strength
Amnesty International
UNICEF
These are just some of the great organizations out there for you to look into. If you are active in a church, check with your pastor to find out what kind of community service programs your church does. That's another great outlet for your service.
